Thank you for your service! At Psychological Associates of Melbourne, we are proud to support the men, women, and families who have served our country with courage and dedication. We understand the unique challenges Veterans face during their service, as they transition back into civilian life, and as their difficulties further complicate their lives after discharge or retirement. Whether you are filing a VA disability claim, in need of a nexus letter for service connection, undergoing a re-evaluation for an appeal, or seeking support for Social Security disability, we provide expert assessments for each step of the process. Our services are specifically designed to meet the needs of veterans, ensuring they receive the care and support they so richly deserve.
We have assisted more than 6800 current and former Servicemembers with therapy and preparing to file VA claims. We have worked with Veterans of all military branches, including:

We also routinely evaluate frequently under-assessed conditions, such as concussive blast exposure and co-occurring head trauma in those who served in armor or artillery. Please contact us if you have specific questions about those conditions.
Aware of the effects of toxic command structures, including those downrange, and unique dynamics imposed by the nature of military service itself, we have helped Veterans to address nearly every form of Military Sexual Trauma (MST). We can help with presenting needed documentation in a way that facilitates service-connection while revealing as little about associated events as possible, given the need for privacy apparent in most men and women exposed to MST. We aim to be conscientious and respectful of privacy while prioritizing information most likely to facilitate the claim.
We offer the following specialized services:
- VA Disability evaluations including Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) for VA Claims
- Nexus Letters addressing potential service connection for mental health conditions and conditions resulting from medical problems
- Re-Evaluations for appeals of awarded benefits
- Neuropsychological evaluations addressing military Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) including concussive blast injuries
- Mental Impairment Questionnaires (MIQs and Medical Source Statements) for applications for Social Security benefits
- Reasonable Accommodation Letters for employers
- Records reviews of pre-military, military, and post-military psych evaluations, mental health treatment records, and medical records addressing conditions with secondary mental health implications
Our goal is to provide Veterans with evaluations that help them to obtain the benefits for which they are eligible. We are honored to work with Veterans and to offer the specialized care they need to heal, grow, and thrive. Let us help you navigate this important process with the professionalism, dedication, and respect you deserve.
